Earth Day Volunteering
The Tides Inn sees itself as a small part of the environmental efforts underway in Virginia’s Chesapeake Bay region. If more businesses and residents join together, our crucial ecosystem will thrive for generations to come. To coincide with National Volunteer Week (April 19-25) and Earth Day (April 22), the Tides Inn is hosting a spring event open to the public on Saturday, April 25th.
Saturday, April 26 from 9am-11am
In honor of Earth Day, join Tides Inn ecologist Will Smiley for a meaningful morning of Oyster Restoration and shoreline clean-up along Carter’s Creek. Volunteers will assist with shell bagging to help build oyster reefs – a vital part of restoring the Chesapeake Bay’s ecosystem.
This complimentary experience supports our ongoing environmental stewardship efforts and offers a hands-on way to connect with the land and water that define the Northern Neck.
Water and light snacks will be provided. Please dress in clothing you don’t mind getting dirty.
Volunteering concludes at 11:00 AM at Fish Hawk, where participants are invited to relax and enjoy a well-earned lunch at their leisure.
*Please note that lunch is not complimentary.
Advance registration is required. Please sign up at link above to reserve your spot today.
*Please note that we will all meet in the Tides Inn lobby at 8:50am.
