Watercolors at the Tides Inn

From August 6–9, we’re delighted to welcome acclaimed watercolor artist Lauren Albury as our featured visiting artist for a special series of immersive art experiences.

Throughout her residency, guests are invited to explore Lauren’s expressive style through hands-on workshops, curated exhibitions, an artist reception, and opportunities to meet the artist behind the work. Whether you’re an experienced painter or picking up a brush for the first time, Lauren’s approachable teaching style and passion for capturing the natural world create an inspiring experience for every skill level.

Surrounded by the tranquil landscapes of Carter’s Creek, this limited-time residency offers a unique opportunity to connect with art, nature, and creativity while creating a one-of-a-kind keepsake to take home.

Meet Lauren Albury

A dual citizen born in  North Carolina to an American mother and Bahamian father, Lauren grew up dividing her summers between coastal towns on the Eastern Seaboard and traveling to the islands of the Bahamas.

The natural beauty of the ocean is her muse, and her watercolors reflect both the splendor of the sea and the world beneath its waves. When she’s not creating on canvas, she’s likely enjoying a latte with friends, hunting for shells, or doing whatever activity involves spending time int he sun or sea.
