Other Dining Experiences
Irvington Virginia is serenely sited on the tranquil eastern banks of Carter’s Creek where it flows into the Rappahannock River about 12 miles north of its confluence with the Chesapeake Bay. John Smith explored it first in 1608. Not long after, great plantation owners came to grow and export tobacco to England via the bay and Atlantic Ocean. Water’s edge villages, like Irvington, quickly emerged along creeks, rivers, and estuaries – less than 60 miles from Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg.
