Holiday Wreath Making Workshop

Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 5pm, starting November 1

Get cozy in the Maker Space this holiday season and assemble your very own wreath. Our resident artist will help you build yours from plants our resident horticulturist foraged from around the Tides Inn property. (Children must be accompanied by an adult.) $75 per adult, $30 per child

Holiday Ornament Workshop

Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 2:30pm, starting November 1

Create a lasting holiday memory of your time at the Tides Inn. Guests will have the option of crafting an ornament from clay, painting a pre-made design or transforming locally sourced materials such as oyster shells and crab claws into decor. (Children must be accompanied by an adult.) $75 per adult, $30 per child

Chesapeake Gold—An Oyster Experience

Eastern oysters are a keystone species of the Chesapeake Bay that help to purify the water. During this small-group outing, visit an oyster farm, pull up oyster cages and help sort the catch. Back on shore, practice grading oysters for size and quality and learn how to grill them—before digging in yourself.

Watercolor on the Water

Resident artist Theresa Schneveis takes her art lessons on the water: As you cruise Carter’s Creek—gaining inspiration from the resident wildlife and lush scenery—she’ll outline the basics of watercolor painting. Create your own masterpiece, then celebrate with a mimosa.

With two decades of sailing experience, Captain Clay Dingledine provides sailing lessons and excursions aboard his boat, Galene.

Duffy Boats

Enjoy the use of electric Duffy boats to cruise Carter’s Creek. Self-guided tours are 90 minutes and the boats hold up to eight passengers. Complete your tour of Carter’s Creek with a gourmet picnic basket from our culinary team, available upon request. Or, opt to have one of our experienced captains guide you around our waterways. Paddleboard Yoga

Enjoy the river by taking your yoga practice to the water! We will have 10-15 minutes of paddling to and from our destination where you will get to move and float through a core focused flow yoga class. Watercolor on the Water

This fall, learn techniques for color mixing and how to give your work an elegant dimension through texture, shadows and highlights. Mimosas will be served while you work. Enjoy this class on board our Duffy Boat.

Pickleball Lessons

Select a paddle and hit the court for an exciting game of pickleball, the perfect combination of tennis, badminton and ping pong. Duffy Boats

Explore Carter’s Creek this fall on a self-guided tour aboard one of our electric Duffy boats (or request an experienced captain to lead the way). The watercrafts hold up to eight passengers. Level up: Our culinary team can pack a gourmet picnic basket for the outing. Please contact the Concierge for reservations.

Paddleboard Yoga

Move your yoga practice onto the water. After a 10- to 15-minute paddle to our destination, you’ll float through a corefocused, flow yoga class. Open to all levels of yoga and paddling experience

Simply Sailing is designed to educate guests about the basic principles of sailing, including terminology, equipment, safety procedures and fundamental techniques. If you’ve never set foot on a boat or have limited experience, this course is perfect for you.
