Mah Jongg Weekend with Dana Lange

Join us for a weekend of Mah Jongg along the waterfront, featuring Mah Jongg expert Dana Lange, founder of Learn Mah Jongg. A seasoned instructor and National Mah Jongg League member, Dana brings her warm, engaging teaching style to players of all levels.
This weekend includes nine hours of instruction over three days, along with plenty of time to enjoy the Fall at the Tides Inn.
Whether you want to learn the basics of the game or ready to sharpen your skills and partake in friendly competition with fellow Mah Jongg enthusiasts, join us for a fun-filled, educational few days at the Tides Inn.
Beginner Mah Jongg:
Always wanted to learn what the craze is all about? Sign up for our Beginner Mah Jongg class and enjoy nine hours of lessons and supervised play. Learn the basic rules, strategies, and exceptions of the game.
*Beginners are strongly recommended to arrive on Thursday, October 23rd. Classes begin at 9:00 AM on Friday, October 24th for Beginners. Please reference agenda to ensure your ideal stay dates are selected when reserving your accommodation.
Beyond Beginner Mah Jongg:
If you already know the basics of the game and want to sharpen your skills, Beyond Beginner is the right class for you. Students learn how to pick the best tiles to pass in the Charleston and pick the best hand to play. The class incorporates hands-on, group exercises which fosters learning. This class aims to teach you how to think and teaches you strategies for beating your friends.
*Beyond Beginners are also recommended to arrive on Thursday, October 23rd to optimize your weekend of Mah Jongg. Please reference agenda to ensure your ideal stay dates are selected when reserving your accommodation.

About Dana Lange
We’re thrilled to welcome guest instructor Dana Lange, who’s been playing Mah Jongg for over 30 years and teaching for more than 25. Dana first learned the game from her grandmother and now travels the country sharing her passion.
“Based in Durham North Carolina I travel not just the state, or the country, but also internationally making new friends sharing the love of Mah Jongg.”
Her classes, from Beginner to Beyond Beginner, are filled with laughter, strategy and storytelling, making them as engaging as they are educational.
