Historical Garden Tour
A small section of the Tides Farm is dedicated to showcasing the rich agricultural history of our region. Join our farmer, Patrick, on a journey through the history of farming over the last 250 years. You’ll learn about historic crops and their value to the inhabitants of the area over time and about the transition from traditional to modern agricultural crops and practices. He’ll discuss both native and cultivated plantings and the specific varieties he selected for the historical plot. In the Farm’s modern rows, you’ll discuss standards, heirloom varietals and planting zones while picking and sampling the seasonal produce that finds its way onto our Salt & Meadow menus. A packet of seeds customized to your home planting zone will invite the exploration and enjoyment to continue for the coming year.
Offered Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9:00–10:00 AM (June 10th through October 15th), this experience will evolve as the crops grow and the seasons change.
