Bird Exploration Cruise

Led by trained biologist and amateur ornithologist Dr. Mark Smithson, this cruise offers an insightful look into the birdlife of the Chesapeake Bay. With a background in biology and conservation, Mark brings depth and ease to each experience. Learn fascinating facts about bird behavior, from mating and parenting to the amazing migratory patterns of many coastal birds. Along the way, become a citizen scientist by documenting the birds you spot, with sightings submitted to eBird through Cornell University. Look out for herons, ospreys, and other native species that define this coastal landscape.
