Resident artist Theresa Schneveis takes her art lessons on the water: As you cruise Carter’s Creek—gaining inspiration from the resident wildlife and lush scenery—she’ll outline the basics of watercolor painting. Create your own masterpiece, then celebrate with a mimosa.
Bird Watching Cruise
Become a citizen scientist: Join resident horticulturist Matt Little for a casual cruise around Carter’s Creek to spot and identify the myriad bird and plant species in the area, including herons and ospreys.

Duffy Boats
Enjoy the use of electric Duffy boats to cruise Carter’s Creek. Self-guided tours are 90 minutes and the boats hold up to eight passengers. Complete your tour of Carter’s Creek with a gourmet picnic basket from our culinary team, available upon request. Or, opt to have one of our experienced captains guide you around our waterways. Paddleboard Yoga
Enjoy the river by taking your yoga practice to the water! We will have 10-15 minutes of paddling to and from our destination where you will get to move and float through a core focused flow yoga class. Open to all-levels of yoga and paddling experience, this SUP yoga class will offer you the opportunity to flow, breathe, and be in nature.
Ecology Cruise: Morning or Evening
Enjoy a guided boat tour for an immersive ecology experience. This trip offers guests rare photo opportunities, photography direction and conversation education for our local habitats.
Simply Sailing
Simply Sailing is designed to educate guests about the basic principles of sailing, including terminology, equipment, safety procedures and fundamental techniques. If you’ve never set foot on a boat or have limited experience, this course is perfect for you.

After choosing your favorite type of watercraft, stop by the Tides Inn Marina office for a map of Carter’s Creek, a list of the wildlife you may see around the peninsula and information on guided tours. All kayaks, canoes and paddleboards are complimentary during your stay.
