Executive Chef: Kyle Perkins

For Executive Chef Kyle Perkins, cooking begins with connection — to ingredients, to guests, and to the landscape that shapes every meal. A graduate of the New England Culinary Institute, Chef Kyle refined his craft in acclaimed restaurants and luxury resorts from Nantucket to Oregon and San Francisco, including time at sister property Twin Farms, where highly personalized, farm-driven cuisine deepened his commitment to thoughtful hospitality and seasonal sourcing.

At The Tides Inn, his approach is guided by the character of Virginia’s Northern Neck. Early days spent tending his family’s vegetable garden instilled a lasting respect for fresh ingredients — a philosophy that now comes to life through close collaboration with the Inn’s farm and the surrounding waters of the Chesapeake region. Produce, herbs, and seafood are sourced with intention, allowing each menu to reflect the rhythm of the season.

At Salt & Meadow, Chef Kyle’s cooking feels both refined and familiar. Local seafood, vegetables harvested steps from the kitchen, and carefully honed technique are balanced with warmth and nostalgia — from coastal preparations that highlight the day’s catch to house-made breads and desserts that invite guests to linger a little longer.

His aim is simple: to create a dining experience that feels welcoming, personal, and deeply rooted in place. Just steps from the beach and the edge of Carter’s Creek, Fish Hawk Oyster Bar offers a more relaxed expression of life along the water. Here, oysters are served fresh from the region’s waterways, seafood classics share the menu with handcrafted cocktails and local brews, and the atmosphere carries an easy, coastal energy.
