Spring Itinerary

Embrace the season of renewal at the Tides Inn in Virginia, where spring blooms bring bright color to our waterfront resort. Enjoy the fresh air, outdoor activities and the beauty of nature awakening as you explore life on the water. Below, you’ll find a curated itinerary of our favorite spring experiences.

Day 1:

SHORELINE STROLL

Upon arrival, stretch your legs along our Shoreline Trail, which will lead you along Carters Creek and by our Oyster Reef. You’ll learn more about our multi-year restoration project, which added 42 trees and more than 20,000 plants to the area.

WINE AND CHEESE SUNSET CRUISE

After settling in, set sail on a picturesque sunset cruise around Carters Creek with a bottle of wine, cheese and seasonal fruit. A Tides Inn captain will navigate you through the beauty and history of our waterways.

DINNER AT SALT & MEADOW

Enjoy a menu that showcases the region’s farm. Led by our Executive Chef Kyle Perkins, Salt & Meadow champions the culinary traditions of the South in a relaxed, inviting atmosphere.

Day 2:

IN-ROOM DINING WITH A VIEW

Enjoy breakfast in bed while taking in Creekside views. Our in-room dining experience includes our chef’s favorite breakfast options from light bites to a fulfilling breakfast meal.

START YOUR MORNING WITH A WELLNESS SERVICE

At the Tides Inn, we offer a thoughtfully curated collection of wellness services designed to restore balance, encourage relaxation and renew the spirit. Try our Himalayan Salt Stone Massage or a Hydrating Facial.

LUNCH AT FISH HAWK

Join us for locally sourced oysters from our waterways, seafood dishes and refreshing cocktails at our casual waterfront eatery, Fish Hawk. Enjoy lunch at the raw bar or on the patio overlooking the water.

OYSTER EXPERIENCE

Guided by our ecologist, Will Smiley, learn why Eastern oysters are the keystone species of the Chesapeake Bay. You’ll board a traditional watermen’s boat to visit an oyster farm, pull up oyster cages and investigate and sort the catch. Upon returning to the shore, learn how to grade oysters and watch a waterman grill them to perfection.

DINNER IN TOWN

In the evening, take one of our bicycles for a short ride into town and dine at a local restaurant, such as The Office Bistro, Dredge or 77 Social.  Take the Tides shuttle to Adrift, a bistro located in White Stone.

Day 3:

BOUTIQUE SHOPPING

Time to find a souvenir to take home. Visit the Tides Inn Boutique for a variety of regional snacks, or head into town to explore our favorite boutiques, including Dear Neighbor and Irvington Home Goods.

Clay Hand-Building

Join our resident artist, as they guide you through the process of creating a work of heart with your hands. This class will take place in our Maker Space. All skill levels are welcome.

WINE AND CHEESE AT SUNSET

For a truly memorable evening, reserve one of our Wine & Cheese Sunset Cruises — where golden hour views, a curated charcuterie board, and a glass of wine come together on the water.

Day 4:

POTTERY ON THE WHEEL

Our resident artist will help you master the pottery wheel, step-by-step, as you make your own. This class includes two clay molds to be fired and shipped after the session.

ON THE WATER

Discover the Chesapeake Bay lifestyle with water activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding and canoeing. 

CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE

For an adults-only trip, join our Master Class & Tasting: Wine workshop to learn all about the uniqueness and popularity of wine varietals. Traveling with the family?

DINNER AT SALT & MEADOW

On your last night, enjoy dishes you might have missed and have a nightcap at our new bar which is framed by our iconic liquor lockers.
